The Government Degree college is established in this year 1987 at chintalapudi west Godavari district .The college is affiliated to the Andhra university.The college was sanctioned vide G.O.M.S.NO.313 Edn Date 15-12-1987.Telugu Department was started since the inception of the college.

Sri M.Jayaraju was appointed as a lecturer and HOD inception of the college. Dr G.Srinivas as a HOD since 2021.

There is a Regional language and has it’s own significance has it is our mother tounge .it has important rich and glorious literature .Telugu is one of the Dravidian languages which was hailed as "DeshaBhashalandhu Telugu Lessa" by Sri Krishnadevaraya. It has been praised as the  Italian of the East.  It is the official language of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana StatesThe Department has 3 experienced faculty.
