The Department of Commerce was established in 1987 with the establishment of the Bachelor's Programme in Commerce. Given the market demands, a redesigned program with B.Com (Computer Applications) was offered in 2013. In addition, in 2015, a Master's Degree in Commerce with a specialization in Accounting and Taxation was launched. By utilizing ICT-enabled facilities and conducting Student Classroom Presentations, Seminars, Computer lab Assignments, Study Projects, field visits, Industrial tours, and so on, the Department has been offering value-based quality education in line with industry demands and market expectations.

Experienced and highly qualified faculty members from the department have made major contributions to the existing store of knowledge in the field of commerce. For decades, the Department has been a pathfinder in popularizing Commerce education and offering massive possibilities in the Chintalapudi area of West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh. Currently, the department exclusively offers B.Com General (TM/EM) B.Com Vocational (TM/EM), and M.Com (EM)
