 History of the Department 

          As Vivekananda said “youth with iron muscles will be required for our country”. Keeping this in mind, our site donors donate 5.74 acers of land for establish of college along with sporting facilities in the year1987. From the insertion of the college  there is a sanction post in the department with a Vision & Mission. In the year 1992 Sri.K.Veerabhadra Raowas the first Physical Director  of the college.

In our college many students who have shown their talent in sports and games are getting jobs in different fields every year in sports quota. Though ours is a backward rural area and we face many difficulties, our students got trained in various sports in our college have got good recognition and got medals at university, state and national levels. 

OUR COLLEGE PHYSICAL EDUCATION

          The Department of our College, deeply believes in the implementation of the saying “A sound mind is a Sound Body”. Since its inception Our College, has always given Games and sports utmost importance while planning a comprehensive programme of physical education for boys and girls in the campus.

 Play Ground Facilities Available 
  • Our College, has a sprawling play ground. We have one Handball court, one Netball court, two volley ball courts, one ball badminton courts, two kabaddi courts, one Badminton court and one khokho court in the playground.

  • There is a Provision to lay 200mts track for athlets. Discuss throw, javelin throw, shot put, hammer throw, can be practiced by the students in play ground. We also have cricket nets for practice.
  • Indoor Facilities:

We have One Table-Tennis court, chess boards, two carom boards and also acquired the latest hi – tech gym equipment for the benefit our students,We havesome single stations &multi station Gym, with Power lifting and weight training set.

Games & Sports Committee:
 

             Every year a committee is formed namely “games & sports committee” with Nine members, The principal, physical director, two lectures and five students (Both Boys& Girls) in that committee.

Vision
  • To motivate the students to enter into the play ground for physical fitness.
  • To offer additional training for the enrichment of the outstanding sports persons.
  • To motivate students and staff to achieve all-round development through the utilization of the facilities in the department.
  • To work collaboratively and strive to support the mission through our commitment for outstanding teaching, service and professional development.
  • The Department wishes to create more facilities for existing courts.
  • The Department wishes to have a sports pavilion in tune with the changing needs of the times.
  • To promote leadership, teamwork, community services, values, diversity and lifelong learning.
Mission
  • The Mission of the Department of Physical Education is to provide Physical Education and Recreation with emphases on sports Training Physical Exercises and Outdoor and Indoor Recreation.
  • The Department wishes to keep the play ground and all other facilities readily available not only for the students and staff of the college but also for use by the youth, public upcoming young generations of the surrounding villages.
  • The Department wishes to provide a broad discipline approach for optimal promotion of physical activity, recreation, fitness, health and quality of life for all.
